Could This Really Be Xmas?

My night was horrible, in short i had a restless night and this night was supposed to be Christmas eve.

How can Christmas eve possibly pass by just like that?

That was when it dawned on me how much things have changed, how Bokoharam has successfully instilled fear in the hearts of people around here that people hardly gather to celebrate anything.

I miss those days when we children could go house by house asking for christmas gifts and blessings.

I miss those days we could lit and throw bangers anyhow we deemed fit.

How about the christmas party organised at night?

I can pay anything to have such experiences again.

 Right now, things have really changed. People would hardly even come out to acknowledge that it is christmas. The only thing that keeps reminding today is Christmas is the plate of Rice and fried meat i had this morning. It was too delicious, at first i thought i had intercepted the Queen's dish.

The situation actually worsened this year. Last Christmas, the youths in my community organized a football competition.

It helped to keep smiles on the faces of many. Infact, i came home on break from school basically for this competition, i thought it would be done again this year but to my dismay nothing like that is happening.

Merry Christmas to you all, make sure you go out today and do something that will register smiles on your face. As for me, I'd be in my bedroom watching movies or writing songs till the end of today. Merry Xmas
