The crisis in PDP has gone deeper as two factions of the party held party congresses in both Rivers state and Abuja. The Alimodu Sheriff faction , backed by the 12 PDP governors in the country, is presently holding its convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers state while the Professor Jerry Gana faction is holding its own in Abuja.
